Eisriesenwelt GmbH

Accessibility Statement

Eisriesenwelt GmbH is committed to making its website accessible in accordance with the Austrian Web Accessibility Act (Web-Zugänglichkeits-Gesetz, WZG), as amended, implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2016 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies (Official Journal L 327 of 2 December 2016, p. 1).

This Accessibility Statement applies to the website eisriesenwelt.at.

01. Compliance Status

Due to the following non-compliances and exemptions, this website is partially compliant with Conformance Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 and with the applicable harmonised European Standard EN 301 549 V2.1.2 (2018-08).

The non-compliances and exemptions are listed below.

02. Non-accessible Content

Non-compliance with accessibility requirements

A small number of PDF documents are available for download on the website, such as information brochures or maps. These documents are currently not fully accessible. For example, heading structures and alternative text for graphics have not yet been fully optimised throughout.

Need assistance? If you require assistance with non-accessible PDF documents or other content, please contact us at info@eisriesenwelt.at. We will make every effort to provide the content in a suitable format wherever possible.

Disproportionate burden

Some recorded videos and multimedia content produced by Eisriesenwelt do not yet provide the required audio description or a textual alternative (WCAG success criteria 1.2.3 and 1.2.5). As a result, the spoken content or visual impressions of the cave are not fully available to deaf or blind users. Immediate remediation would constitute a disproportionate burden under the applicable accessibility requirements. However, Eisriesenwelt aims to make gradual improvements to newly created media content.

Content excluded from the scope of application

Older documents and media content published before 28 June 2025 are excluded from the scope of the Accessibility Act and are therefore not currently required to be adapted for accessibility.

Content provided by third parties, such as external ticketing systems, embedded maps or links to external partners, which is not developed, funded or controlled by Eisriesenwelt GmbH, is also not subject to the primary requirements of the Austrian Accessibility Act (BaFG).

03. Preparation of this Accessibility Statement

This statement was prepared on 16 July 2026.

The website’s compliance with the Austrian Web Accessibility Act (WZG), implementing the requirements of Directive (EU) 2016/2102, was assessed by Eisriesenwelt GmbH through a self-assessment based on the WCAG 2.1 guidelines.

04. Feedback and Contact Details

The services and content offered on this website are continuously being improved to enhance accessibility. If you encounter any barriers or accessibility issues that are not described in this statement, please let us know by email.

Please send all feedback and suggestions directly to: info@eisriesenwelt.at

05. Enforcement Procedure

If you do not receive a satisfactory response through the contact option listed above, you may submit a complaint to the competent enforcement body. In Austria, this role is carried out at the federal level by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG).

Complaints must be submitted electronically using the FFG’s contact form:

Contact form for the FFG Web Accessibility Complaints Office

The FFG reviews these complaints to determine whether there has been a breach of the requirements of the Austrian Web Accessibility Act and, where necessary, to initiate measures to remedy the identified shortcomings.
